IEI Occupant ID System
Within the automotive industry,
there is significant demand to verify that a person in the driver's seat is in
fact the owner of that vehicle, or at least a designated driver. As the industry rushes
to tackle this problem using slow and costly rule-based programming and various types of
templates-based approaches, IEI achieves the same in minutes, working on a shoe-string budget.
Here, a collection of IEI's STANNOs connect themselves into a
SuperNet that quickly recognizes the driver from a variety of positions. Training has
taken place over a period of 10 seconds, with the test subject loosely posing
for the camera. As a new individual is presented to the camera, the system fails
to recognize the individual, and then composes an email or instant message to
the owner and/or the authorities.

This is a prime example of what IEI
neural systems can do as smaller neural network modules interconnect to form the
equivalent of human vision brain pathways. Think of the applications of this
technology in the biometric arena or in identifying known terrorists in airport
terminals!
